Laser line detection is widely used in various fields of robotics and automation. There are many different applications that use video camera and laser line. For example, smart wheelchair, 3D object scanner of mobile robots that are used for weld line detection or distance measurement. After the analysis of already proposed laser line detection algorithms it was observed that many of them are based on color segmentation methods. As already known, these methods are not adaptive because static thresholds are suitable only for images with static background. Thresholds must be changed each time according to background conditions. This is why this project proposes new laser line detection algorithm that works in a complex environment. |
