Abstract [eng] |
Teenagers have limited possibilities to be active in society due to negative social environment, relationship with family, which is not close, misunderstanding of educators, social rejection, hostility towards them, and other reasons, and they experience social exclusion. Under the influence of social exclusion, young people have a harder time learning, they feel confused, have less confidence in their strengths, become closed, prone to depression, use of alcohol, drugs, and hostile behaviour, and therefore the process of social inclusion becomes important. Social inclusion is to implement in non-governmental organizations including Children’s Day Care Center, which provides various possibilities for educational activities. Research done by scientists (Delgado, 2020; Wong, 2010; Moono, 2017) has highlighted that social exclusion of teenagers through educational activities is assessed as a priority area, however, these activities are organised often regardless of teenagers’ interests, motivation, abilities. Problematic issues are raised in the Master Thesis: what educational activities are carried out by Children’s Day Care Center to achieve the social inclusion of teenagers? What educational activities do the teenagers do as important for their involvement? The object of the research: possibilities to increase social inclusion of teenagers. The subject of the research: educational activities of the Children’s Day Care Center. The aim of the research: to reveal possibilities of increasing the social inclusion of teenagers by participating in the educational activities of the Children’s Day Care Center. The tasks of the research: 1) to validate theoretically the possibilities of increasing social inclusion of teenagers by participating in the educational activities of the Children’s Day Care Center; 2) to validate research methodology of the possibilities of increasing social inclusion of teenagers by participating in the educational activities of the Children’s Day Care Center; 3) to identify the possibilities to increase social inclusion of teenagers by participating in the educational activities. Main work results and their fields of use. The results of the research showed that educational activities carried out in the Children’s Day Care Center are significant for the individual changes of teenagers and increase the possibilities for social inclusion. Children’s Day Care Centers organizing educational activities identify the needs of teenagers and focus their activities on learning activities (culinary, development of life skills, artistic activities, etc.), leisure activities (sports, film education, camps of educational activities, etc.), and the prevention of ill-treatment (drug and alcohol prevention program). These activities are important for their involvement, where they can raise their ideas and implement them by helping to organize different busyness activities. Employees of Children’s Day Care center specify that teenagers, who participate in educational activities of Children’s Day Care Center every day, have to communicate constantly, discuss with others, therefore their social skills improve, they learn to improve their emotions and become calmer. Educational activities give them greater possibilities to be a part of the community, to reveal themselves more, to be self-confident, and to realize that they are not alone, to be valued and accepted, that their opinion and feelings are important. So, they have possibilities for self-analysis, they are encouraged to think more about their future and profession. Results of the research highlighted possibilities for improvement of educational activities of Children’s Day Care Center. To increase the social inclusion of the teenagers, it is important to include volunteers and other professionals in the educational activities of Children’s Day Care Center, to cooperate more with the local community and family, to organize exchange program, mentoring, vocational training program, awareness-raising activities, prevention programs. According to the teenagers, their social inclusion would increase if they had more possibilities to organize activities thought by them, and there would be greater possibilities to see other cities or countries, places of interest. The results of the research are significant for researchers, Children’s Day Care Centers, social workers, and educators, who are seeking to explore or put into practice possibilities to increase the social inclusion of teenagers. |
