Abstract [eng] |
The final work of the master 's project examines the impact of sustainable flexible packaging for the food industry on the environment and society and the influence of sustainable packaging development factors on food production and consumption. Although sustainable packaging is not new to the market, its development still poses a variety of challenges for raw material producers, flexible packaging printers, food producers and other stakeholders. Sustainable packaging requires a great deal of effort on the part of all stakeholders and constant cooperation in improving the structure, technical properties, and processing capabilities of packaging. The aim of the final project is to identify the factors that have the greatest impact on food producers 'intention to develop and invest in sustainable flexible packaging and consumers' intention to consume and buy food in sustainable packaging and to provide guidance to food producers and the whole supply chain. The project reveals the problems of sustainable flexible food packaging development, the concept of sustainable packaging, identifies the main factors that promote responsible consumption and production of sustainable packaging, and develops a theoretical conceptual model of development factors. Empirical studies have been performed to confirm the theoretically constructed model. A quantitative survey was conducted to determine consumers 'intention to consume and purchase food in sustainable packaging, and a qualitative survey method, a semi-structured interview, was used to determine the determinants of food producers' intention to develop and invest in sustainable flexible packaging. A conceptual model has been developed which, based on the results of empirical research, has confirmed and led to the conclusion that the sustainable development of flexible packaging is determined by responsible consumption and production skills, which must be compatible between both consumers and food producers. Empirical researches show that the level of environmental awareness has the greatest impact on both consumers ’intention to purchase food in sustainable packaging and food producers’ intention to develop sustainable flexible packaging. Legislation on packaging, packaging waste and recycling also has a significant impact on the change in packaging raw materials used by food producers. |
