Abstract [eng] |
Assessment of competitiveness is a complex phenomenon, which highly varies depending on the object, the assessor's beliefs, political realities and other aspects. In the last century, it has been a common practice to link competitiveness to economic indicators, but as the environment in which we live changes, the climate warms, so does the assessment of competitiveness. There is a growing debate in scientific discourses that competitiveness cannot be measured in terms of economic indicators alone. Environmental aspects are beginning to play an important role in the field of competitiveness. Since 2015, the idea of Europe's transition to a circular economy has been developed, with the aim to maintain a high level of national competitiveness. In 2019, Green Deal was introduced - a growth strategy, one of the main goals of which is to transform the EU into a resource-efficient and competitive economy, in which competitiveness would be decoupled from the use of resources. The new challenges we face are creating a new political context that requires a new approach to competitiveness assessment. |
