Abstract [eng] People with hearing disabilities (deaf and half-deaf) is a significant part of the society, which usually remains invisible or pushed away and because of this it forms social isolation, difficult communication barrier between hearing impaired persons and persons with normal hearing. Object of the thesis: quality of life of people with hearing disabilities. Aim of the thesis: to investigate subjective quality of life of persons with hearing disabilities. The targets that were set to achieve the objective: perform analysis about scientific literature questioning disability and quality of life; prepare research methodology about disabled people‘s quality of life; perform a research with people who have hearing disability, draw conclusions and recommendations. Methods used in the research: analysis of scientific literature, descriptive (qualitative) study, content analysis of qualitative data. Quality of life from disability aspect is observed in scientific literature, disabled persons quality of life in Lithuania is being analysed. However, there is a lack of research about persons with hearing disabilities. Thesis is new because conception of quality of life of persons with hearing disabilities is being analysed and main aspects of deaf and half-deaf people view is revealed. The research has found that in terms of being physical assessment showed that that hearing impaired people welcomes your disability because of hearing problems do not attach large, despite the lack of interpreters. When researching the sense of their dependence that people with hearing disabilities have a clear community to which they belong has close links. Most of the research participants answered that either graduated or studying. Some of them graduated from colleges and other universities, so it can be said that most people with hearing disabilities to higher education, is not afraid to go further. Becoming the field concluded that skills are assessed well. Cooking them is a favorite activity, since the possibilities of providing family. Able to prepare the food, love to manage, play sports, read books. The examination of hearing impaired people future aspirations, it became clear that it is important for them to complete their studies and good foothold. The need to have a good life associated with addressing the needs of all. It also plans to successfully climb the corporate ladder, who would have a well-paid job.
