Abstract [eng] The project analyzes the opportunity of participation in ancillary services market by high capacity wind power plants, supplying power balance energy to electrical power system. In the first section the wind power development trends of Lithuania and Europe are overviewed. The negative impact of wind power plants to electricity quality is described and researches by other authors on reduction of this impact are analyzed. Also the main energy storage systems capable to participate in power balancing were investigated. The second section is intended to identify the basic allocation principles and methods of calculation of balance and automatic generation control system. This section presents the dynamic model designed for power balance, where the problem is solved by using energy storage systems, hydropower plants ant wind power plants. The model obtained that the system imbalance can be reduced to minimum by these three generation aggregates when the correct selection of filter parameters is selected. In the last section the model of two wind power turbines, created by different manufacturers was made. The presented turbines work with reserve for the systems balance. The results revealed that under appropriate conditions and optimized equipment reserve of 10 % of the nominal power plant power can be achieved with availability up to 80 %. The economical evaluation founded that a loss of 5 to 10 million euros per year can be caused, when the 100 MW power plant maintain 10 MW of balancing power.
