Abstract [eng] |
In this master‘s thesis „Assessment of dioxins and furans releases in Lithuania“ performed emission inventory and overview of change of trends in Lithuania. For evaluation was set out tasks of which was: to review the levels of dioxins and furans (PCDD/PCDF) emissions, their hazards, analyze and identify the possible formation of Lithuania in the sources and assess their size. An overview of the legal requirements and dioxins and furans emissions reduction opportunities. As well as to prepare the country of PCDD/PCDF emissions balance. For the master‘s thesis carried out calculations using the Stockholm Convention methodology prepared in 2013: „Toolkit for Identification and Quantification of Releases of Dioxins, Furans and Other Unintentional POPs“. The obtained results show the current situation in Lithuania and that the majority have of emissions is into the atmosphere, where emissions overall assessment consists of 51.9 percent of total emissions of dioxins and furans. Also found that the most significant sector in the country is „Power generation and heating“, which emits 41.3 percent. all emissions into the atmosphere. In this master‘s thesis was concluded that in 12 years Lithuanian dioxins and furans emissions decreased 4 times, but in this paper on the lack of data, all categories have not been widely evaluated and the rate can be smaller. PCDD/PCDF emissions downward trend is probably due to the best available techniques, improved production technology, awareness and other reasons. |
