Abstract [eng] |
The Master's Final Degree project consists of two major parts – theoretical and practical. Theoretical part analyses historical context of algorithmic music and its' types, essential features and further development. Pioneers and composers of algorithmic music and their compositional ideas and musical works are also overviewed in the theoretical part. The principles, methods and various types of expression as well as its' influence on further development of this particular music are discussed in this part too. Empirical part of the project attempts to document the practical part and overall progress in as consistent and informative way as possible, including all utilized processes, such as algorithmic, logic, generative processes, establishment of creative constraints and other creative, technical, aesthetic and performance-related decisions, which were mandatory in order to realize all of mentioned procedures in the context of electronic music. The practical part contains a numbered and sorted set of audio examples, which represent audible results captured during diverse intermediate stages of music system creation. The conclusions based on these audio examples will determine the further direction of system design. The intention of the audio examples is to reveal the capabilities and functionality of music system (given to the certain condition of the prototype) and emphasize, where possible all of the applied creative and technical methods and features, principles and or chosen algorithmic composition types. |
