Abstract [eng] This work investigates the optimization of reactive power transmission network and the selection of voltage equipment. This study will help achieve greater network efficiency while minimizing losses. Network efficiency is always associated with economic benefits, so economic calculations are performed to increase efficiency to find out how the network should be optimized. Transmission network losses are caused by excess or shortage of reactive power, due to which our power factor is not equal to one. The aim is to find optimal methods for optimizing reactive power in the transmission network. Algorithms for the optimal solution are evaluated and analyzed. The objective function of the optimization method is described. The optimization model was applied in the theoretical model of the network IEEE – 23, and later transferred to the Lithuanian transmission network model, evaluating the results in the summer minimum load mode and the maximum winter load mode the obtained results provided the location and size of the selection of voltage control measures in the network. The different economic results of the selection of voltage control devices in the network are compared. A perspective model of the Lithuanian network is being developed, estimating the growing consumption by 18% and growing generation in the country. Much of the growing generation in the country is renewable energy. The optimization of the perspective network is performed and the obtained results are compared with the results of the existing network.
