Abstract [eng] |
The master's final project analyzes the possibilities of using engineered wood waste for energy production. Wood is one of the most widely used raw materials in the world, leading to rapid deforestation across the planet, so wood composites could be used as an alternative to address this problem. These composites are longer lasting and have more stable dimensions, require less maintenance and are easier to transport and install than regular wood. The main problem with the use of wood composites is the resulting excess waste generated in wood processing companies, which ends up in landfills. Incineration of wood composite waste for thermal energy recovery could be a solution in this situation, but due to insufficient regulation of pollution, in this case, it is necessary to find out about the possible release of hazardous pollutants. |
