Abstract [eng] The article analyses the communicative competence of would-be specialists of physical education and sports in the context of the topicalities of pedagogical communication. Over last decades of the XXth century the issues of teachers’ professionalism were widely discussed. This is important for the institutions of higher education preparing physical education teachers and coaches because, as research indicates, many of the bachelors of this sphere do not want to work at school, and many of them who already work want to change their profession. On the basis of the research in Lithuania and abroad the problem question has been raised: what is characteristic of the change of attitudes of would-be specialists of physical education and sports towards their pedagogical communication in the lessons? We suppose that the attitudes towards pedagogical communication of would-be specialists of physical education and sports change, and those changes depend on students’ years of studies and their gender. The questionnaire was applied in the research which allowed revealing the changes in the attitudes towards pedagogical communication of would-be specialists of physical education and sports. The sample in the longitudinal research of cohort type consisted of students from the Faculty of Sports Education at the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education: 89 second year students and 60 fourth year students.
