Abstract [eng] One of the most important concepts of Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics – hermeneutical understanding that is not only the specific method of humanitarian sciences, but the structure that conditions all human understanding in general – is investigated in the article. Attention is focused on the essential components of this understanding – unique normativity of hermeneutical understanding, that newly thematizes cognitivity which is essential to any human cognition together with their mutual relationship. Adequacy of evaluation of the role that aspect of normativity plays not only in Gadamer’s hermeneutical understanding but also in the conception of all human thinking in general both with its consequences to any epistemological theory are explored; the influence of normativity to hermeneutical understanding is revealed and the most important aspects of the transformation that traditional conception of human cognition in general undergoes are described.
