Abstract [eng] |
The aim of the article is to disclose the expression of a psychosocial portrait analysing an individual and social experience of disabled youth (a semi-structure interview was the instrument of research). This article provides the concept of a psychosocial portrait and presents social-psychological characteristics of disabled youth who participated in the empirical research. Empirical research revealed that a portrait of disabled youth is formed from an individual and social position of disabled youth. In society disable youth are understood as dependent, disable to participate in social life and having limited possibilities of autonomy. Disabled youth understand themselves as alienated members of society who are unwelcome at work, in the public sphere etc. For these reasons, disabled people tend to limit their social contacts and notice that other disabled people and family members are the main resources of emotional support and understanding. |
