Abstract [eng] |
The aim of this masters final work is to investigate friction stir welding of polymeric materials. The paper presents the main reasons that determine the quality and durabilty of friction stir welding. Welding methods of plastic parts, their advantages and disadvantages are also discussed. The structure of plastics is discussed, as well as which plastics are suitable for the welding process. To find out experiments were performed with ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), PP (Polypropylene) and PE (Polyethylene) plastic plates. The tests were performed by changing the plastic plates as well as changing key parameters: rotational speed and feed rate. The strength of the welds obtained was checked by a tensile testing machine. In the modeling part, the simulation of friction stir welding was designed with the program „Abaqus Unifed – Simula“. The obtained results are the stress and temperature distribution of plastic plates. Using ,,Minitab“ statistical software, the influence of welding parameters on the proposed welding strength was checked. This final work is splitted to five themes: Analysis of literature; Experimental part; Part of modeling; Conclusions; References. |
