Abstract [eng] The main goal of this master‘s final degree project was to create the system that facilitates the organisation and provision of distance learning courses of Lietuvos šeimos centras (Family centre of Lithuania) for the engaged. The current state of distance learning in the institution has been analysed, the preparation of the engaged for marriage in the context of non-professional informal education has been reviewed and technology-enhanced learning tools and features have been assessed to achieve the goal. Studies on the functional and non-functional requirements (focus group of mentors and questionnaire survey of the engaged) of the participants in the learning process have been carried out in the design stage of the system. Having assessed the needs for the system, SWOT analysis of the needs of distance learning support system has been carried out. Based on SWOT analysis results learning support model has been designed and corresponding research article has been published in ALTA’19 conference proceedings. After reviewing the alternatives of technology enhanced learning tools, Moodle virtual learning environment has been chosen to implement the system. During the implementation of the system, instructions in various formats (text, video, interactive tools of the above-mentioned virtual learning environment) have been prepared, electronic learning materials have been adapted, and system plugins and modules required by participants have been installed and configured. The system has been tested with the selected group of mentors and it engaged people who agreed to participate in the system test. To ascertain effectiveness of the new system distance learning experience research (qualitative analysis) has been carried out. The system is constantly being improved in cooperation with the participants of the learning process. Based on positive results of qualitative analysis it is recommended to use “The System of Preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage for the Engaged” in distance courses for the engaged.
