Abstract [eng] |
The final master's project aim is to investigate the possibilities of applying the TIG method for hardfacing technology. To achieve the aim of the final master's project the analysis of the scientific publications was carried out, the resistant to abrasive wear coating was made, the tests of microstructure and hardness were done. The results were compared with other coatings which were made by plasma transferred arc welding and submerged arc welding. During the tests, the results revealed the possibility of the TIG method to be used as the technology for the hardfacing. It is a mobile, perspective and economical method for hardfacing and it doesn't need high investment in order to start to use it. It is possible to use a wide range of hardfacing materials as well. The hardfacing coatings made by the TIG method have the same properties as the coatings made by plasma transferred arc welding. Three-body abrasive wear test results showed, that the resistance of coatings to wear made by the TIG method was higher than coatings formed by PTAW. The SAW coatings were the weakest during the tests. Despite the fact of the perspective of the method it is not used widely. The reason is the lack of tests and information about how to use it and what kind of results it can produce. |
