These Master‘s theses called „Influence of Flexible Supports on Resistance of Precast Hollow Core Slabs“ analyse a resistance of precast hollow core slabs on support part. The main idea of this project is to show how capacity of diagonal section is changing when the support is different. For example, when support is rigid like walls and when support is flexible, like beams that gets deflection after loading. The deflection creates a shear flow in longitudinal direction of the beam. The shear flow can cause a hollow core slabs web failure because web of slab is thin concrete part and bigger stress can be intolerant. In this thesis, a literature analysis was carried out presenting the problem, the research already done, and the results obtained from it, as well as how the problem is evaluated in other European countries and what methods are used to solve it. The calculation section consists of two parts. The first part deals with cross-sections of slabs produced in Lithuania using finite element software using different numerical schemes and observes stress distribution, where they are concentrated in cross-section, what influence shape of the hole has. In the second part of the calculations, real-life situations are analysed and the Finnish standard Code card No.18 is used to determine when the shear stresses that occur can cause a critical force that will cause stresses greater than the tensile stresses in the concrete. Both parts compared hollow core slabs from two different manufacturers. |
