Abstract [eng] |
Polyesters such as polyhydroxyalkanoates, polylactide, polybutylene succinate and others are biodegradable polymers derived from renewable sources. These polymers are believed to be one of the alternatives to replace conventional thermoplastics. However, one of the drawbacks that limits their application is brittleness. One of the ways to improve properties of biodegradable polyesters is blending them with other polymers or various additives, such as plasticizers. The purpose of this work is to improve physical and mechanical properties of biodegradable polyesters ((poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate), polylactide and polybutylene succinate), by blending these polymers together and making blends with plasticizers. After films are made various analysis methods are carried out. |
