Abstract [eng] |
The purpose of this master thesis is to determine, what impact on the total amount of power being produced by the photovoltaic modules does the power optimizer has. Research consist of two parts, where the first part contains real life data analysis, gathered from several individual basic solar panels, and in the second part a research is being done on a solar power plant with a power optimizer installed, which leads to the calculations of additional ammount of power can be made with this technology. In the conspectus part, basics of solar energetics, fundamentals of PV module structure, installation and operation is being reviewed. Furthermore, an overview of grid inverter and the characteristics of PV optimizer is being presented. In addition - basics of main factors, for instance shadows and etc., that have significant impact on the ammount of power genereated by the solar panels are overviewed. Objects of the research, their geographic locations, orientations, installed power, main system components and all other characteristics needed for this research, i.e. PV, optimizer and inverter types, are presented in detail. To analyse and compare characteristics and generated power figures, two different approaches were taken – a comparison was being done between grid with power optimizer installed and grid inverter with power peak seeking device. Furthermore, additional research was made to see the impact of different ammounts of shadows on PV modules. Efficiency and characteristics of power optimizers were determined. |
