This project explores transport corridor of Panevėžys city. The transport corridor starts at J. Basanavičius Street and continues along Aukštaičiai, Nemunas and Klaipėda streets. Measurements of traffic flows were carried out in eight major crossings of the transport corridor. Following the measurements and analysis of the data received, crossings are modeled using the software package “Vissim”. First, the crossroads are modeled according to the results of the study, then the crossings are modeled by changing the number of vehicles and the time of green light signal of the main streets. Transport flows are increased in three different ways: one fifth, one third and one half. The green light signal time on the main streets is also increased three times: two seconds, five seconds, and seven seconds. |
