Abstract [eng] |
Relevance of the theme. Ensuring economic viability means not only adaptation to modern business conditions but also fast, effective competitive development based on optimal resource management. Viable organizations not only adapt but also develop. In the conditions of global economy, ensuring viability of logistics companies depends on a variety of external and internal factors which determine the necessity to systematically evaluate the change in these factors. The systematic approach to the modern interpretation of economic viability not only allows the determination of critical factors affecting the viability of organizations, but nevertheless allows the development of an appropriate system of indicators to evaluate these factors. In order to achieve high economic viability of the company, it is particularly important to apply new tools and methods by which it would be taken into account not only the internal but also the external parameters of the activities. Globalization, new rules of competition and capital movements create the conditions, the need and the increasing demand for evaluation of economic viability. The necessity for economic viability evaluation is based on the ability of the organisation to innovate, adjust its actions and, prior to its competitors to develop a strategy which would allow to maintain high productivity in the long period. In addition, hundreds of logistics companies in Lithuania get bankrupt every year, which ones may not have been able to properly evaluate their working methods and indicators in time, they were not able or failed to make the necessary adjustments of the activities in time. The relevance of the final project research was determined by the need to deepen theoretical and methodological guidelines, as well as to provide recommendations related to ensuring the economic viability of logistics companies based on the evaluation system of the indicators.
