This paper examines the impact of the clothing industry on the environment and human, the impact of “fast fashion” on industry and explores individual aspects of the clothing business model that determine the sustainability of the business model and environmental damage. The goal of the final project is to offer solutions for adapting the socially responsible business model to medium and small size clothing companies. The object of the project is a socially responsible business model in the clothing industry and its application possibilities. The aim of the thesis is to make suggestions for small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to operate under a socially responsible business model. The project reveals the issues of a socially responsible business model in the clothing industry, analyzes socially irresponsible business models and assesses the situation in the Lithuanian clothing industry. The empirical research carried out examines a theoretically based model of socially responsible business for small and medium-sized enterprises and reveals whether such a business model can be successful and profitable. A qualitative study was conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with owners of socially responsible clothing companies. The theoretical model of socially responsible business created and tested during the final project for the clothing industry is based on the information obtained during the empirical research. The project developed a theoretical model of socially responsible business, which, after conducting an empirical study, substantiates and confirms the theoretical model of socially responsible business and allows to conclude that such a business model can work in practice, not just in theory. The thesis also provides insights on functioning and development perspectives in the clothing industry. |
