Abstract [eng] The oil-based lubricant business started in the mid-19th century. Since then, the oil and the processes used to extract it have improved considerably. Nowadays, there are a lot of entrepreneurs selling oil, the selection of products is also very big. The oil user, the buyer usually chooses the cheapest or well-known manufacturer's production, but is not sure if the oil meets the standards specified by the manufacturer. However, how does the consumer know which product to choose? There is not enough research in modern industry to justify the quality of oil. A professional oil test stand can cost between € 15’000 and € 250’000. The price of the stand depends on the results you want to get and their accuracy. The cost of each test can range from € 20 to € 500, depending on the test samples used. At high oil research prices, not everyone can explore oil poured into his car. For this reason, it was decided to test the oil quality of several different manufacturers using my Timken oil test bench and a professional and proven four-ball test bench while comparing the results obtained.
