Abstract [eng] |
In this master’s degree final project high-density polyethylene (HDPE) waste plastic properties and behavior are being examined. Also, it is being investigated, how to make recycling process easy and effective. Final project consists of two main sections: literature review and experimental study. In literature review, waste plastic problem around the world and in Lithuania is overviewed. It is discussed, what recycling technologies can be applied, where plastic waste can be used and what difficulties are being encountered in recycling process. Also, carried out studies about plastic waste mechanical, chemical, physical properties and recycling technologies are reviewed. In experimental study section, recycling technologies, that were used to create recycled plastic raw material and specimens is shown. Also, in this section, results of specimen compressive and flexural strength tests and physical properties of specimen’s are presented. Plastic specimen behavior and properties, when specimens were only from recycled plastic material or from plastic and devulcanized tire rubber or sand mixture, were analyzed. HDPE plastic pellet behavior in ultra-lightweight concrete mixture was also analyzed. |
