Airtightness is one of the most important factors for assessment of energy efficiency and building performance. Heat leakage norms (restrictions) applied for modern class A + and A ++ buildings are very strict and therefore avoidance of occurrence of airtightness defects is compulsory. This work analyses the main regulatory acts, directives, laws related to energy efficiency of buildings and the respective requirements for building envelopes in different countries. A review and study of the main modern methods and technologies of airtightness problems detection is presented in this paper with special attention paid to the method of thermal imaging. Research section of the paper is dedicated to analysis of thermal images of different objects with further practical advices. One object was analyzed with Blower Door technology along with thermal imaging. For the final conclusions the author used survey of opinions of the experts from companies working in this sphere. The author studied the most frequent cases of heat leakages and presented the diagram of heat leakage zones (pathways) location. |
