Analyzing scientific literature, it has been noticed that social responsibility becomes a priority area. A socially responsible business or corporate social responsibility involves the economy, the social sphere and the environment. Due to the rapid growth in consumption, environmental and social problems arise, and companies are increasingly taking social responsibility actions on a voluntary basis. The thesis formulates the importance of development factors of socially responsible business in the freight transport sector and the impact of social responsibility on business. The goal of the thesis is to analyse the theoretical specificities of corporate social responsibility and the impact of socially responsible business on the sustainable company development. In order to accomplish the tasks, scientific researches of various authors from Lithuania and abroad related to the initiation and implementation of sustainable development were analysed in the paper. The thesis describes the importance of the transport sector in the context of sustainable development, the key statistical indicators for the freight transport sector and reviews the corporate social responsibility, its concept, and structure. |
