Abstract [eng] Relevance of the topic. In today's world, competitiveness and its preservation are very important. Competitiveness is often identified as the acquisition and preservation of a competitive advantage, but gaining and retaining a competitive advantage is difficult. Achieving a competitive advantage is necessary to improve the supply of natural resources, access to international markets, production processes, labor productivity, the quality of products and services, in collaboration with various institutions and investing in high-quality technologies, training, innovation, research and experimental development. Competitiveness assessment is a complex process that identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the industry and requires choosing the right methodology, taking into account the various indicators and targeted data. In order to develop the food industry successfully, it is necessary to assess the current situation of the food industry and make decisions that help to increase the competitiveness of the food industry.
