Abstract [eng] The objective of the work is to analyse the opportunities for applying distance learning technologies at the company and for setting up a distance learning system for employees to learn to work with information systems. The main tasks of the work are to investigate the need for distance learning at the water supply company (WSC), to design and create the distance learning system and to select the best scenarios and learning methods for training employees to work with information systems, and also to research the suitability of a distance learning system and the opportunities for using such a system for training employees to work with information systems. Opportunities for using distance learning technologies in a company are examined in the work. Information systems are regularly installed or existing systems are regularly updated in the WSC. Employees must be trained to work with such systems. To ease the learning process and increase its effectiveness, distance learning technologies are used: a virtual learning environment (VLE), video conferencing and internet conference rooms. The best learning scenarios and methods for employee training with information systems are selected. Research is performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the instruments used. The integration of the VLE Moodle into the WSCʼs information infrastructure, integration with Microsoft Office 365 tools, and cases of the use of video conferencing and other solutions for distance learning are reviewed in this work. The result of the work is an installed VLE and a survey performed among employees to evaluate the suitability of using the VLE.
