Various automobile manufacturers methods were described, how to ensure the most efficient operation of the crumple zone, i.e. so that deformation elements deform in a predetermined order and absorb the largest amounts of energy. Some of the geometry of the Crashboxes described will be tested to find the most suitable. The most important parameters of impact resistance and investigations of behavior under the impact of the front deformation zones were reviewed. According to the reviewed solutions for the front crumple zones, different crashbox and bumper beam configurations were developed using computer modelling program “SolidWorks”. |
