Currently, more than half of the export of Lithuanian furniture manufacturing sector is related with IKEA Group orders. However, high dependence on one major partner increases the risk. If the strategy of the concern changes or the IKEA group finds suppliers who execute orders with appropriate quality and at a lower price, Lithuanian furniture manufacturing sector whose companies have applied their production technologies only for the orders of the IKEA concern , can suffer a severe and sudden decline in export. Therefore, in order to reduce this risk, Lithuanian furniture manufacturing companies need to independently look for export markets and development opportunities in them. |
