The comparison between Lithuania and Finland reveals similarities and differences which can help to reach better results in our countries policy. The aim of the research – to compare implementation of gender equality policy in Lithuania and Finland. Objectives of the research: 1) To analyze the theory of implementing gender equality policies; 2) To analyze the legal aspect of implementing gender equality policies in Lithuania and Finland. 3) To make an analytic comparison of gender equality policy implementation in Lithuania and Finland. In order to compare the implementation of gender equality policy in Lithuania and Finland, a quantitative and qualitative research strategies were chosen. The results were reached by combining statistical data and information gained through interviews with specialists. Analysis were made according to the main areas of gender equality index: decision making, work and salary, family life, education and health care. Other information are listed in tables and divided into categories and subcategories and illustrated with authentic quotes from the interviews. The survey showed that Finland is better at implementing gender equality policies in many areas, but Lithuania's statistical indicators are rising in employment and increasing life expectancy. |
