The second pillar pension funds model in Lithuania is supported by the State Social Insurance Fund. It was created with the aim of creating a Lithuanian pension reserve for the resolution of future demographic problems. In 2013 for pensioners who, by accumulating their total budget for Lithuania's second pillar pension funds, agreed to contribute with their own funds, the state began to promote the accumulation of Lithuania's second pillar pension funds by awarding grants. In 2017, the state is again considering a new reform of the second pillar pension funds in Lithuania, which is important for every citizen of the country. |
