The present article deals with property shanges of hide in producing blosse. The system of sodium alkaline, sodium sulphide and sodium salts - chloride or sulphate or formiate was used for producing blosse. The influence of alkaline treatment parameters - amounts of sodium alkaline and sodium salts, temperature and duration of treatment on properties of hide as destroying of collagenous and noncollagenous proteins, changes in mass and sponginess were investigated.
