The object of this thesis is road transport traffic accidents. The aim of the thesis is to analyse road transport traffic accidents in Panevėţys city. The aim of the thesis was detailed into a few objectives, which determined the following structure of the thesis: firstly, the current situation of traffic safety in Lithuania was reviewed; then, the main traffic safety determinants, which make an impact on the number of traffic accidents, were identified and analysed; after that, the measures of traffic safety improvement were discussed and the analysis of the „black spots‟ and dangerous road stretches was carried out; further in the thesis, the research in the determinants of traffic accidents in Panevėţys city was conducted. |
