Each guide must improve his / her competencies. They must always keep pace with the recent historical events and update the information. The representatives of the guide profession have a very tight work schedule which limits their opportunity to improve their competencies. Various special tools might be applied to improve guides’ competencies. In this case distant education, realized via e-learning system MOODLE, is important. Distant education systems are not adapted to particularly improvement of the competencies of guides, hence, an educational system which is to be introduced in the sector of culture and tourism. Due to specificity of the objects, tools for suitable learning material in the MOODLE system are lacking, thus, the system should be supplemented with interactive plug-ins. In order to find out the need for distant education, an investigation should be carried out. The efficiency of the system has been clarified after experimental study. In the thesis the educational system of Pazaislis culture and tourism center to improve the competences of guides has been analysed and described. |
