Information systems based on business process execution which helps to monitor and manage business process are being used more and more by organizations. The success and quality of organization business depends on effectively managed business processes. However, business processes are constantly changing, therefore it is important to ensure that, when organization needs and business processes change, the system would be updated as soon and as simply as possible. In order to ensure proper development of information systems based on business process execution a development method is needed. Currently, there are no widely known and used specialized development methods of information systems based on business process execution. Moreover, the existing ones do not fully cover the development of such systems and business process is not the main component. The purpose of this thesis is to improve the development process of information systems based on business process execution. Thesis defines created method of development process of these systems. Method consists of four development stages, which covers whole lifecycle of IS creation. Each stage highlights actions, their motivation, input and output and responsible role. Method also describes created business processes management platform evaluation methodology. This methodology allows to evaluate six aspects of business process management platforms from business process, data and user interface modeling to business process execution, monitoring and evaluation. Methodology provides each criteria evaluation requirements and recommended weights that show the importance of criterion. Methodology can be applied to evaluate business process management platforms more flexibly according to the requirements. Using the created method for the development of information systems an experimental system for communicating with companies was developed. |
