Abstract [eng] |
Analysis of the artificial intelligence features in digital culture. Artificial intelligence – one of the biggest phenomenon’s in 21st century that shows huge opportunities and threats for mankind, huge progress in science, technology, the difference in human evolution, the emerge of thinking machines, the problem of singularity and transhumanism. All of this – a result of various science disciplines that science fiction films represent in the form of digital culture. The complexity of a given theme is interdisciplinary, film makers have a difficult mission - to present and to communicate about artificial intelligence discourse properly. Thus, the purpose of this work is to investigate representation, expression and features of artificial intelligence, in digital culture and to compare them with portrayal of artificial intelligence in media (film) discourse. Theoretical part of the thesis analyzes the basic aspects of AI- the idea, concept, development, reviews various contributions of AI development, discusses the Turing test as the most important experiment which had an impact on the thinking machine creation, considers the most important ethical aspects and their significance in AI context, analyzes the specific features of artificial intelligence, deals with digital culture and technological progress in the context that issues singularity and transhumanism, investigates future prospects and science-fiction film, as matrix of artificial intelligence knowledge. The second part of the thesis provides the case study of science fiction movies “Artificial Intelligence (2001)” and “Ex-Machine (2015)”. . The study of features and characteristics of artificial intelligence in scientific literature helped to reveal representation of artificial intelligence in science fiction film discourse. The research findings have exposed the most important features of AI - autonomy, intelligence, transhumanism, singularity, strength and weaknesses of AI, simulation and AI human interaction, self-programming, cognition, response and ethics. According the results, it is became clear, that literature and digital culture identified AI based on same features. |
