Abstract [eng] |
On a daily basis, businesses encounter a variety of operational processes and attempts are made to have control over and optimise such processes. One of the most recurrent processes features instructing of employees on health and safety issues. Employee turnover, ongoing training and knowledge updating are permanent factors, which predetermine the need for instructing of employees on a day-to-day basis. One of the optimisation options is remote instructions. For the purposes of the thesis, a study was made to determine the impact of remote instructions. Employees and customers of SDG Group, UAB have been interviewed about currently used instructing methods and expectations for changes. The results suggest that both the employees and the customers were not happy about current instruction methods. For implementation of remote instructing system, a free of charge virtual training environment \"Moodle\" has been selected. Every platform of the system has pros and cons, but proper functioning of \"Moodle\" platform and its installation possibilities, which not require much programming turned the scale towards choosing the platform. Attempts are made to adapt the instructing system for internal use of the companies within SDG Group, UAB and to offer it as a service to the customers who are also involved in employees' instructing procedures on work safety and health issues. Functionality of the system makes it more complicated as it would enable access for the employees of several companies, thus, confidentiality issues become very important for control of the users and their activities. To solve the authentication issue, the thesis provides for the analysis of authentication methods ensured by platforms well as possible pug-ins. After the analysis and comparison of the authentication methods it was decided to choose and implement external database authentication method, which allows for the instructing system to have control over the employees from a number of companies and their confidential information. |
