Abstract [eng] |
Recently, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems became very popular among Business enterprises. Many ERP distributors are often confronted with various difficulties, such as integration of existing enterprise systems with ERP into the common business processes. This paper describes a practical investigation of a case of AB “Kauno tiltai” that had a task to create a transport accounting information system, integrated with ERP Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 and Alga 2000 – salary accounting program. A problem has arisen: how to integrate this system with an existing ERP. Considering this, various integration techniques where examined in detail and the best available option – autonomic integration – was chosen. After implementation, an experiment was conducted to confirm that the created transport information system ensures an adequate number of errors, i.e. there are no more than 0.33 errors per day (Part I); it was determined that ERP changes have a little affect on transport information system (Part II); and that the time for transferring data between integrated systems is acceptable (Part III). The experience, gained during this industrial case study, could be useful for solving problems of integrating ERP with external systems and choosing the right method for integration. We have determined the guidelines for extending of ERP Dynamics AX applications: using data-based, offline integration; making improvements in specifications of functional requirements, and raising a quality of programming. |
