Every organization or firm has employees (personnel), therefore it is important for all of them to gather information about their employees. For every activity associated with the management of employees, the IS is used. Typically every organization has its personnel department. Its functions: 1. To look for new employees; 2. To introduce candidates to their future job; 3. To collect information on all the activities of the employee, his personal data etc. Personnel functions were considered subsidiary for a long time, and therefore the installation of a computerized Information System has been given less attention. But now the point of view has changed. Especially with the emergence of personal computers which allowed a fast and easy way to store and manage such information. The personnel IS performs a large number of tasks. Currently, computerized information systems are widely used in Lithuanian enterprises. Among them are fairly well-known management systems \"Rivilė\", \"Pragma\", \"Bonus\", \"Konto\" and many others. Most of them are fairly universal and suitable for various enterprise management tasks. These systems have high complexity and a high cost. Companies spend quite a lot of time and money training personnel to work with these systems. That’s why less complex and cheaper systems are needed. And that is why this work’s aim is to create a small and easy personnel Information System software project which would include the main strengths of the major systems and avoid their weaknesses. |
