This master thesis analyzes the policy of asylum, also the system of social integration in the Republic of Lithuania. There are also concerned the opportunities for foreigners granted asylum to integrate into Lithuanian society. Because of increasing amount of military conflicts, there are a lot of people who do not have another choice and retreat to safe countries seeking of asylum. Foreigners granted asylum become a part of society and there are programs creating to help them to integrate. In Lithuania there is also such a program. Despite that, there are perceptible a lot of problems after integration process such as inability to take care of themselves, high level of unemployment of foreigners granted asylum, migration from the country. Observing the following trends, there are doubts if Lithuanian integration program is effective enough for foreigners granted asylum to integrate into society successfully. The aim of thesis - to investigate the program of social integration of foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania and submit recommendations how to improve it. The main problem of thesis - if Lithuanian legal framework and organizational structure are sufficient preconditions for successful social integration of foreigners granted asylum. Based on the theme of a quantitative survey and the foreigners granted asylum Lithuania opportunities for social inclusion and interference. The study included two groups of respondents: 24 refugee reception center staff and 36 foreigners granted asylum. The study took place in November 2016 to December in the Refugee Reception Center (Rukla, Jonava district). The survey found that in Lithuania right conditions for asylum seekers in the integration of foreigners, but encountered the following obstacles: lack of social integration program funding, predominantly negative public attitude to asylum recipients of foreigners; Integration Program provides foreign educational institutions of higher education funding, improper preparation of legislation. The main problems faced by asylum seekers, aliens - Lithuanian poor language skills, difficulty in finding a permanent job and the country's ignorance of the laws. Many foreigners granted asylum most important financial services, assistance in finding work, in order to obtain benefits or in finding housing. |
