Master‘s final project analyzed not involded in employment, education or training youth (NEET) situation in Lithuania. Situation analysis focused on this target group assessment of the options when trying to integrate into the labor market. Recently in Europe a lot of attention is given to the youth unemployment issue, searching for reasons why so many young people fail to find work or simply are not interested in integration into the labor market. For young people, who are classified as NEET risk group - the risk of social exclusion increase, therefore it is important what measures will be taken to prevent it. Problematic issues, set in the paper, attempt to answer what employment measures may encourage NEET youth risk groups involve in labor market in Lithuania and what recommendations on youth employment policy development can be given. The object of the research – unemployed, not involved in education or training youth between 15 -29 years old. Research aim - to analyze NEET youth situation in Lithuania: to discuss the inclusion into the labor market challenges and opportunities. To achieve the objective five targets were raised: 1) Submit theoretical aspects of NEET; 2) Perform NEET youth situation analysis; 3) Make measures, designed to improve NEET youth integration into Labor Market, analysis; 4) Examine NEET youth employment opportunities in Lithuania; 5) Submit proposals and recommendations. The research methodology is based on the performance of expertise interviews with selected experts from The Ministry of Social Security and Labour, Youth Affairs Department, Territorial Labour Exchange and NGOs and the establishment of NEET young people in the focus group. Research analysis results helped to clarify what features are typical to Lithuania NEET young people and what problems this target group usually encounters. Main opportunities, which help NEET youth more easily integrate into the labor market was named. Main issues, associated with today's youth policy implementation, oriented on NEET youth was revealed. |
