Abstract [eng] Relevance of the Topic. Romantic relationships at work are becoming an increasingly important topic of research, given the constant change in the work environment. Romantic relationships at work are characterized by multiple dimensions, including employees' emotional well-being and aspects of organizational performance. Romantic relationships (between co-workers, supervisors, subordinates or team members) are on the rise, with as many as 16% of all romantic relationships starting at work. Even during the pandemic, when most people worked remotely, the percentage of romantic relationships at work increased. The research carried out so far identifies different possible consequences of romantic relationships at work. For example, that romantic relationships at work can have a direct impact on employee productivity and performance. In addition, analyses of gender authenticity and different types of romantic relationships at work have shown that they determine employee engagement and effort at work. Despite the existing research, the implications of these relationships at work are still under-researched and further in-depth research is needed to understand their consequences for employees and the organization. Research Problem. Lack of understanding of the implications of romantic relationships at work from the perspectives of employees and human resource management professionals, resulting in a lack of clear guidelines to effectively manage such relationships within the organization.
