Abstract [eng] |
The master's final project analyzes the influence of green transformation on the competitiveness of European Union countries. The latest World Risks Report (World Economic Forum, 2024) declares that the biggest risks of the world are climate change and the threats associated with it, on these days. In order to limit climate change, the United Nations signed the Paris Agreement in 2015, the main goal of which is to limit global warming to 1.5oC. In 2019, the European Union presented its strategy to the United Nations on how to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, called the European Green Deal. This means that all EU countries must pursue a green transformation, reducing pollution, investing in renewable energy sources, increasing energy efficiency, moving from a linear economic model to a circular economic model. In order to remain competitive, countries must adapt to new environmental policies and carry out changes. Because of that, is important to analyze how this transformation will affect country’s competitiveness. Scientists often examine the impact of the green transformation on individual indicators such as GDP, employment, etc., but comprehensive evaluation is missing in scientific works. |
