Abstract [eng] |
The aim of this Master Degree Project thesis is to evaluate, by analytical and experimental investigations, the increase in the load-bearing capacity of reinforced timber bending beams and to determine the most appropriate method of reinforcement for the tensile zone when timber elements are strengthened by polymer fibers, steel strapping and timber element The analytical calculations examine the need for reinforcing materials when the tensile stresses of the timber beams are reduced by 30%. The experimental studies were based on the reinforcement quantities obtained from analytical calculations, which were used to reinforce nine timber beams. |
