Abstract [eng] |
There are many process modeling analysis tools in a market today. Many of Lithuanian companies are interested of this type of software as a tool of enterprise architecture or software modeling. This kind of tools are quite expensive and still there are some doubts about getting benefit. In that case just several companies made decision to start business process modeling projects. Many existing BPM tools provide support for the simulation of business process. With simulation models, we can explore how an existing system can perform if altered, or how a new system might. Simulation could improve the benefit of business process modeling tools. The problem is a lack of methodology an examples of practical implementation of simulation models. There are different views on how best to develop, validate and use simulation models in practice. Most development procedures tend to be linear and prescriptive by nature. The goal of the research work was to explore capabilitties of BPM tools to simulate business process to help improve benefit of these kind of software and to develop a more emergent and iterative procedure that better reflects the reality of simulation development exercise. Igrafx Process for six Sigma by Micrografx – the leading simulation package for the Six Sigma community is the BPM tool was chosen in creation of simulation model example A major user benefit of Igrafx for six Sigma is that it is graphical interface to a behavioral modeling system and therefore does not require deep knowledge of a programming language. Process, was chosen as an example process in this research work is cargo acceptance in terminal – a final part of value chain. The deveveloped process simulation procedure may help to decrease failures on early simulation projects. An example simulation model was created, reflects all range of use BPM tool. So it could help to companys owners in making decisions to start enterprise modeling projects. |
