Abstract [eng] |
Feasibility study of the territory located in R. Budrio Str. 30, in Raudondvaris Eldership development is done for the master‘s final project. The purpose of the work is to prepare a project for a multifunctional community center in the specified area. The plot belongs to the "Gyvieji akmenys" religious community. The Kaunas-based Catholic community "Gyvieji akmenys" has been carrying out various activities since 1992. In 2001, the organisation acquired R. Budrys‘ homestead and the territory belonging to it at R. Budrys st. 30., Didvyriai village, Raudondvaris eldership, Kaunas district. For 20 years, the house has been used for recollection retreats and other community events, but the small building does not meet all the needs of the community. In this place, the community has a vision to develop a multi-purpose center that accommodates various activities in one place. Theoretical research has been carried out - literature and secondary sources examining the development of the Catholic community in Lithuania have been studied, the history and ongoing activities of the "Gyvieji akmenys" community have been summarized. The link between the Catholic Church and sustainable development was examined in order to achieve multifaceted sustainable development in the center of the community. It was concluded that the spirituality is important in creating a harmonious sustainable Catholic community center - the concept of ecological spirituality is used to define it. Recollection retreat programs are recommended for developing ecological spirituality. Catholic community centers and recollection retreat centers were analysed, their design recommendations were examined. Possible directions for the expression of a harmonious architecture were defined. Based on the summarized results, a hypothetical model was prepared. Empirical studies were carried out, the methodology used was sociological research and analysis of potential landscape pollution. The raised hypotheses were confirmed and clarified, and a conceptual model was prepared. Based on the conceptual model, an experimental project of a sustainable multifunctional community center "Gyvieji akmenys" was prepared. The project applies the principles of traditional construction technologies and vernacular architecture. It also implements the functions of a community center, a retreat center and a craft workshop. The physical and functional properties of the complex are integrated to create material and spiritual sustainability. |
