In this paper two different yarns were tested, A – contained 55% hemp and 45% of cotton fibre in it, B – contained 40% of hemp and 60% of cotton. Yarns were provided by Ukrainian science academy, bast plants institute. These yarn were tested, to find out their strength and elasticity properties, graphs were drawn from the results of testing these yarns. Results were compared with other cellulosic fibres. After testing these yarn, they were used to produce a knitted fabric. For that purpose, single and double layer fabrics were designed and knitted. They we knitted using 10E and 12E machine gauge, STOLL flat knitting machines. |
