Abstract [eng] |
The support for electricity production from renewable energy sources policy was set in September 2001. The broader pathway for all renewables towards 2020 was set and accepted by the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament in April 2009. The related policy package, in particular the EU Directive on the support of energy from renewable sources (2009/28/EC), comprises the establishment of binding RES targets for each Member State. The calculation of the particular targets is based on the respective Member State’s GDP per capita. This provides a clear framework and vision for renewable technologies in the mid-term perspective. All EU MS are using different kind of support strategies to increase the share of RES in total gross energy production. In order to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of support policies, the comparative analysis and the impact assessment of support schemes for four countries (Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany) have been analyzed. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the used support strategies and derive costs and benefits results from increased RES deployment in the 2010 and 2030 frameworks. |
