Abstract [eng] From the very beginning jazz was about freedom, movement and the expression of individuality. Its separation from the music traditions and emphasis on improvisation and innovations gave rise to the cultural changes. There is no doubt that the main feature which influenced rapid diffusion and popularity of jazz is freedom. This freedom exactly and its manifestations in jazz music reflect the relevance of this topic, as jazz music these days is both popular and widespread, but on the other hand, one rarely wonders and sees into the very essence of jazz music – the freedom, changes inspired by the genesis and evolution, not only in music, but also in the minds of people, culture, social relations, and politics. The object of this thesis – the liberal nature of jazz – manifestation of freedom within jazz and the liberating effect of jazz. Jazz is the uniting and universal language of freedom. This is the reason why the main aim of this thesis – is to reveal and analyze the free and liberating nature of jazz. Meanwhile, the main objectives are: to define jazz as a musical phenomenon, or style; to analyze and describe the manifestation of freedom in the aesthetics of jazz; to analyze and describe the ability of jazz to liberate thinking, to transcend cultural boundaries, to liberate various social norms and customs, to contribute to the extension of political freedom. The main conclusions of the thesis – jazz has a rather complicated description as a music style, because it unites a great number of styles and many aspects of different cultures. The aesthetics of jazz break all the templates and liberate music from the strict frames imposed upon it by modernism; jazz demonstrates a special personal liberating effect upon those who practice it and those who consume it, culture, society and it even contributes to the political freedom.
